How to Build a Winning Anime Rangers X Squad

These quick tips keep your roster flexible across raids, portals, and challenge events.

  • Open every match with low-cost stun or slow units like Bunny or Shadow Knight so your high-cost carries can charge abilities safely.
  • Mix element types to cover resistances—pair Dark units with Fire or Sun attackers to avoid damage fall-off against elite waves.
  • Prioritise traits that shorten cooldowns (Godspeed, Nimble, Unique) for burst casters such as Limitless Sorcerer and Molten Phantom.
  • Rotate team slots between raids and portals: bring at least one air sweeper, one crowd-control unit, and a boss killer for consistency.

Tier List Methodology

Rankings are based on late-game performance at level 50 with no premium event buffs so free-to-play players can follow along. We simulate wave progressions in raids, portal clears, and boss arenas, then weigh each unit across four pillars: raw DPS, crowd control, lane coverage, and utility. Stronger placements go to units that excel in multiple pillars without demanding rare traits.

Testing was completed on the October 1, 2025 balance patch. We will refresh placements after major updates, including the upcoming Halloween event teased by the developers.

Recent Changes & Patch Watch

Keep an eye on these key adjustments from the latest patch cycle—they directly influence which units deserve your resources right now.

  • Chainsaw Man collaboration portals now reward additional Ranger Cores, accelerating trait rerolls for S-tier units.
  • Crimson Owl received a projectile speed buff in the late September hotfix, boosting overall DPS by roughly 8%.
  • Limitless Sorcerer awakening materials now drop from the revamped Eclipse Raid, shortening the grind for free-to-play players.
